Cody Ward and the Western Mustangs are headed to the Baggataway Cup after a 15-9 win over the Laurier Golden Hawks Thursday night.

With a little record-breaking out of the way, Cody Ward and the Western Mustangs are all set to focus solely on trying to achieve a three-peat at the Baggataway Cup.

Ward became Western's career scoring leader when he notched his 250thpoint to pass Ryan McRory on the all-time list as the Mustangs downed the Laurier Golden Hawks 15-9 Thursday night. As the CUFLA west first seed, Western will next play on Saturday November 10 against the winner of a Friday quarterfinal between the host Toronto Varsity Blues and the CUFLA East second seed.?

The St. Catharines native finished the regular season with 50 points in his fourth CUFLA season after previous totals of 41, 66 and 61. His scoring pace this season is right on par with his totals from 2016 and '17, given that the schedule dropped from 12 to 10 games this year.
